It has a full frame large sensor similar to the one found in the original 35mm film. The chassis is made of magnesium alloy and polycarbonate panels, keeping the weight to a minimum.
According to Nikon there is a degree of weather sealing of the frame and shock proof.
The body of the Nikon D600 is so light that lens attached the camera feels front heavy. This can be overcome by using an optional battery grip.
Image quality is great to say the least, and the only competitor in this aspect is the bigger Nikon D800.
Though the shutter speed and the flash speed is a tad slower than the beefed up Nikon D800, it is very impressive.
Please note that there are a few problems with new mode dial lock that have been featured. Honestly any Nikon D600 review should include this information because existing Nikon users may find it a tad annoying.
Though it is said to be an entry level full frame camera, it is true value for money being the cheapest in the segment.

The pricing have been very minimum and teetering on the cusp of consumer affordability which mainly depends on the type of lens the user wants to invest in.
